The Certification in Basic Computer Skills and Digital Literacy (CBCSDL) is a comprehensive 6-month, 300-hour training program designed to equip learners with essential computer knowledge, digital literacy, and employability-oriented skills. The course is structured in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) to ensure quality, relevance, and industry applicability .
Throughout the program, participants gain a strong foundation in computer hardware and software, operating systems, and Microsoft Office applications, enabling them to perform day-to-day digital tasks efficiently. The curriculum also emphasizes internet usage, email communication, online research skills, and cloud-based tools such as Google Drive and Google Forms.
To prepare learners for the evolving digital landscape, the course introduces emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and the Internet of Things (IoT) at an awareness and application level. Strong focus is given to cyber security awareness, covering online safety, data protection, password management, and prevention of common cyber threats.
In addition, the program integrates social media management, online communication tools (Zoom, Google Meet), basic programming concepts (Python, C, HTML), Photoshop basics, and soft skills development, including communication, time management, teamwork, and confidence building.
The course is delivered through a blend of theoretical instruction, practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and continuous assessments, ensuring learners develop real-world, job-ready digital competencies. Upon successful completion, participants receive a course completion certificate, enhancing their employability, productivity, and readiness for further education or career opportunities in the digital era .
